What is Beejotsav
Beejotsav, initiated in 2013, is a collective effort by organic farmers, social activists, and conscious consumers in Vidarbha. The festival celebrates the preservation of indigenous seeds and promotes poison-free farming, aligning with the broader movement for sustainable agriculture.
Over the past 12 years, Beejotsav has successfully organized 24 events across various districts, including Nagpur, Buldhana, Wardha, Gadchiroli, and Chandrapur. This event provides an essential platform for farmers, consumers, and environmental activists to engage in meaningful discussions on topics such as seed saving, natural farming techniques, honeybee rearing, and organic marketing. It fosters a sense of community and trust among organic farmers and consumers, making it a vital initiative for sustainable agriculture.
To engage with attendees, Beejotsav invites speakers from diverse fields, that impact agriculture, the environment, and health. Promoting a toxic-free, sustainable lifestyle is the sole aim of Beejotsav. Expenses of the festival are carried out by crowd funding and the grace of donations that supporters pour in.
